Ronald McDonald House of Central Georgia
A Ronald McDonald House is a temporary home-away-from-home for the families of seriously ill, critically injured or medically fragile children who are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. It is also a place where children who are receiving outpatient treatment are able to spend time with their families in a warm and cheerful environment.

At a Ronald McDonald House, the families have a place to rest, away from the atmosphere of a hospital, where they can attempt to lead "normal" lives. Parents are also able to share their worries and concerns with other parents who can empathetically understand the emotional strain placed upon them and who can offer each other support during times of crisis.

WHO WE ARE
Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill, critically injured or medically fragile children. The treatment may last a day, a month, or even longer. It's a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family.
Families are stronger when they are together, which helps in the healing process. By staying at a Ronald McDonald House, parents also can better communicate with their child's medical team and keep up with complicated treatment plans when needed.

When your child is sick, you want the best care possible - even if it is hundreds or thousands of miles away. The Ronald McDonald House allows families to access specialized medical treatment by providing a place to stay at little or sometimes no cost.
